Wael is an experienced pharmaceutical industry leader with a track record of working across medical and business roles, including business systems and process management, marketing, pharmaceutics, market and business planning, procurement, and sales. Wael holds an MBA in Health Care Management from the American University in Dubai.
Abuelmagd has accumulated a wealth of international experience, having worked for three major pharmaceutical companies across the markets of Egypt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia. For his pioneering efforts, acting as the first leader in the Middle East Region to lead the alliance between Global MSD Pharmaceuticals and Julphar Gulf Pharmaceuticals between 2014 and 2018, Abuelmagd was awarded the 2017 Global Alliance Award by the Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals (ASAP) USA.

Jim has a unique blend of working for one of the world leading pharmaceutical companies, Novartis, and the private equity owned Acino. He has significant above-country leadership experience having run the Latin America and the Middle East and North Africa regions for Novartis, and the Latin America business for Acino.
Jim has a lifetime involvement in competitive sports and represented Scotland in the 1,500 m in track and field and holds a B.Sc. degree in Physiology from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in England.
Dr. Abdulelah Alhawsawi is an accomplished and resourceful patient safety leader with many years of experience in healthcare systems. He is the CEO and Co-Founder of NOVO Genomics and the founding Director-General of the Saudi Patient Safety Center (SPSC) and MOH Advisor on Patient Safety (2016–October 2020).
He was instrumental in establishing SPSC as a WHO Collaborating Center for Patient Safety Policies and Strategies (one of only five WHOCCs in the world in this field). He holds dual certification (American – Canadian) in general surgery with sub-specialties in transplant and hepatobiliary surgery. He is a consultant to several national and international quality and safety organizations and recently became a board member and vice president of the Global Sepsis Alliance (GSA). He was part of the Expert Panel on the 3rd Global Patient Safety Challenge of the WHO.
He chaired the organizing committee for the 4th Global Ministerial Summit on Patient Safety in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in 2019. Dr. Alhawsawi was instrumental in making patient safety a G20 priority for the first time in Saudi Arabia’s 2020 G20. Currently, Dr. Alhawsawi is part of the Joint Commission Resources & WHO’s Global Patient Safety Action Plan. Taskforce and the World Patient Safety Day (WPSD) Steering Committee.
Dr. Balburias is a board certified General internal medicine doctor, Diplomate and Fellow of the Philippine College of Physicians. A health optimization medicine practitioner, the pioneer doctor for Functional Medicine in the Philippines, and one of only five certified functional medicine practitioners in the country.
He was drawn to functional medicine as a new
approach that views health as a continuum rather than a cycle, helping people manage their general
health and wellbeing rather than solely treating their disease based on symptoms.
He has been trained in Functional Medicine by the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) in the USA, and is also European Double-Board Certified in Nutritional Medicine and Anti-Aging Medicine. Trained in using Mind Body Medicine from the Center for Mind Body Medicine in the US. He is part of the first batch of doctors trained in Reversing Cognitive Decline by Dr. Dale Bredessen under the ReCODe Program.
