A few posts ago, I suggested more than a few things you could do to get a positive mental attitude. One of these suggestions was to use positive affirmations. An affirmation is a declaration that something is true. So a positve affirmation is something good that you tell yourself is true about your life. Basically, all you need to do is replace that negative self-talk you use with some positive self-talk.
Size does matter.
You don’t have to use some long affirmation to make a difference. As a matter of fact, I would advise against it, unless you’ve memorized something that works already. This is because, when you really need an affirmation, you won’t be able to remember something long and complicated. So, just use some simple ones that work for you.
Now, all you have to do is talk to yourself.
Say the affirmation or affirmations to yourself first thing when you get up in the morning and just before you go to sleep at night. This will help you to reprogram yourself for success. As a bonus, you can and should use them all day long. Any time you start thinking negatively, stop and say something positive to yourself.
This will get you put in the nut-house for sure!
You can boost the power of these statements if you say them aloud to yourself in front of a mirror. Using sight and sound with your affirmations will make them stick in your mind better.
